Imagine my immense surprise to find International Twit  Award Month…You will have no idea how I laughed myself silly! I, of course shared the fact with Autumn as soon as I found out. What did the Twinnie have to say? Well, first she laughed nonstop, then got control of herself and said you have to write a post about this one! You gotta love how Autumn always encourages me! It’s harmless really and I have a perfect set of people to award the Twit Award to! We all don’t really know them, but they hide out in our blog comments section. Thankfully they are filtered out by Akismet, they have wiped out and destroyed well over 2, 000 on the Twinnies blog since September! They must really have some weird attraction for our blog, is all I have to say.

So the Twit Award goes to…(Imagine a drumroll here) all those Spammers out there! Come on, do you have nothing better to do with yourselves? I mean it, seriously? Shame on all of you is what I have to say!! Who is with me kind readers? They are evil and some are downright too disgusting to even have a glance at. Some are advertising something, some are just plain ridiculous, too. I must say that they actually make very little sense. Hey, no offense to you spammers, but how about you leave all of us alone? No, you say? Well, then do kindly take this award…Nobody deserves it more!

You have no acceptance speech planned you say? That’s OK, we weren’t expecting one, but you are the proud recipient of the Twit Award and you can’t give it back either!  And just guess what? If you still persisit in bothering all of us nice bloggers…You will get the Twit Award next Februray, too! Be forewarned Spammers…you heard it here first! What do you kind readers have to say? Come on kind readers, did any of you ladies have one of those lucky sixpences in your bridal shoe? I know I didn’t, Dave and I had a good laugh over the thought though. Autumn didn’t for her first marriage we won’t speak much of. Well, except to say she didn’t have a lucky silver sixpence in her shoe. When she ties the knot with her darling man she won’t be having any lucky silver sixpence in her shoe. The Twinnie chuckled over the fact actually when saying no to any type of object in her bridal shoe.

Back to the bride who is marrying in the fall… Her plans are really in full bloom, she is in love, he is in love, too. They are just so happy, but everything has to be just perfect…She will make herself sick otherwise! Sorry, that wasn’t meant to be at all disrespectful…But insisting on a silver sixpence for her shoe? I know they can be purchased, I think she already has hers. The garter thing is also up for debate I hear tell, too…The perfect one has not been located yet. I remember finding mine very early, wonder if the perfect one was easier to locate back then? I don’t recall the type of flowers and all of  the bride to be’s choice, but they may need to be flown in from somewhere I heard…For real? The bride is also wearing a strapless gown, so she is working out like crazy on those upper arms. They, too have to be just perfect…But they already look fine, honestly they do. It is so not necessary to be stressing over them…Is she realizing this? Sadly no.

I don’t remember all this frenzy of sorts going on while planning Dave’s and my wedding. It was a happy and joyful time for both of us, we didn’t have a large wedding…Because we chose not to. But it was very nice, it needed quite a few plans, but not like this. Isn’t there a point when people really do get a bit carried away? I am not meaning to rain on anyone’s bridal parade, honest! I just think this wedding is getting just a wee bit over the top…Praying the bride doesn’t turn into one of those dreaded bridezillas, too! It could happen, these things do tend to occur when people get stressed.

I have to ask any of you kind readers who are married…Did any of you have weddings like the one I am describing? Do share, but only if you feel like you want to…I know everyone is different in these matters. Just kind of curious, so is the Twinnie…This has made her happy her someday wedding will be  so much calmer, peaceful and fun to be had by all!

By the way, did you all know there really is a word for the stuck song syndrome? A hard to shake melody or a haunting melody… It’s called an Earworm. I know what you may be thinking, but it has nothing to do with worms trust me! It seems this happens to 98% of people, so I am in good company aren’t I? Sorry, I digressed just a tiny bit. Back to the song “Smile”…

The first person I recall singing it was my Dad. He sang a lot and often, Autumn’s and my Dad…He had a very beautiful voice. His philosophy always was it’s better to smile than cry, too so it’s no wonder Dad liked this song. I hadn’t been thinking of our Dad in particular when the song popped into my head. I was feeling just a bit sad, for a number of reasons… I don’t think I need to go into any of that for here and now. “Smile”,it really is a nice song with a nice message with it, too and I hadn’t thought of this song for quite some time.

There were many, many famous singers who sang this song…Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Judy Garland, more recent Josh Groban just to name a very few of them. It was said to be Michael Jackson’s favorite song, too.

This song and it’s lyrics…”Smile though your heart is aching/Smile even though your heart is breaking/While there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by/If you smile through your fear and sorrow, smile and maybe tomorrow/You’ll see the sun come shining through for you/Light up your face with gladness/Hide every trace of sadness/Although a tear may be ever so near/That’s the time you must keep on trying/Smile what’s the use of crying/You’ll find that life is worthwhile/ If you just smile.” They are lovely words, with such a wonderful train of thought to have rolling…I suppose I did need to have the song become stuck in my head.

The earworm thing had to happen… I am guessing to share this important thought today  with you kind readers. “Smile”, because tomorrow really will be a better day if you are or have been having some not so good days…It’s a good thought worth sharing, isn’t it? When the self- esteems suffers people can tend to do some not very wise things. I believe you all know what I’m talking about, it can be a sad thing. Making some not so smart decisions. Sometimes in relationships, sometimes with the picking up of some not so good habits. There are so many ways the lack of self- esteem just can destroy a person. I just wish it wouldn’t work like this, but sadly it does. I think another idea is, if you do know someone who could do with just a little boost…Try and help them!

I am all for helping others and so is Autumn. I think one thing we could point out to somebody in need of a boost of self- esteem is point out their good qualities to them. The things you admire about the person. You know state some positives about this person. We all need to be comfortable in our skins, it’s very easy for some and quite difficult for others. Anyway since this is boost self- esteem month, let’s all take stock of our own. If we are doing fine, let’s look at some of those who need a boost! I am not saying we should take it upon ourselves to be a therapist, physchologist or anything of the kind! Some things are better left to the professionals, you all know what I’m saying.

Just give a little boost here or there, it could help somebody out…It never hurts to try! Just spread some positives vibes, they are catching…Trust me, they really are! Spread a little here and there and everywhere, that is what the Twinnie has to say. Notice she had to make sure it rhymed? Who is with us kind readers? Any thoughts on boosting self- esteem month?
