This is an interesting food month! There are 8 different foods celebrated I found, seriously and sadly no drinks. For such a short month I find this very odd 8 different foods, well just go figure! January has 31 days and there were only 3 celebrated food & drink, it is beyond my comprehension. Good thing I am reporting only the food facts. I wouldn’t begin to ponder how the number of celebrated foods change from month to month. Who decides the choices anyway?
Since there are 8 foods let’s get started with me telling you kind readers just what they are! It’s National Cherry Month, National Grapefruit Month, National Hot Breakfast Month. Those are the 3 that made it to “National Month”, the other 5 are only mere “celebrated foods”. In no particular order ( I always wanted to say that, it’s sounds so official and all!) 1. Avocado 2. Banana 3. Sweet Potato 4. Canned Food 5. Great American Pie. Wow, where to begin? As far as the “National Foods” go, Cherries are good and need to be celebrated! Very good fruit and versatile, too! Both us Twinnies say Yay to cherries. Same with the Hot Breakfast Idea, it’s a wonderful way to start your day! Do I always follow that rule? Speaking honestly no, but that’s what Carnation Instant Breakfast is for! The same goes for Autumn, along with her chai tea!
Grapefruit…I am sorry I detest grapefruit and so does Autumn. Anyone have any thoughts about the “National Foods”? Does anyone really like grapefruit? There has to be somebody who does, right? I wasn’t bashing grapefruit, by the way…Please do know that. Maybe you like it a lot… If so, please share!
The other “Celebrated Foods” of February, well I have to say Yuck to Avocados! The Twinnie echoed my thoughts, just in case you were wondering. I know, some of you kind readers probably love them. If so, please share! Bananas, good fruit and good for us. Both of the Twinnies love them! Thumbs up to Sweet Potatoes, too. Again, Autumn and I simply love sweet potatoes! Canned Food, I am sorry to be so down on the stuff…But it really isn’t very healthy or good tasting and some of it, just loaded with sodium! Autumn also does agree, by the way. Last but not least, in my book and the Twinnie’s we have Pie…Love it! Who doesn’t? If not, please do tell…What’s not to like?
So many flavors, so little time…I have to say I couldn’t narrow a favorite pie choice down to just 1, either could Autumn. Wonder if we are alone on this one? Pumpkin, Apple, Cherry, Lemon Meringue, Blueberry, Chocolate Cream and I will stop at these 6 favorites of ours. Who has a favorite pie flavor, or like Autumn and me more than one? Do share, let us know please! Well this was fun, now I am off to go have a small slice of pie! 😉 🙂
I just had a Chai, I am very sleepy and am trying to stay awake 🙂 V. Day just wore me right out 🙂 TF ❤
I know you had quite the Valentine’s Day with YDM, you are no doubt pretty worn out! 🙂 Chai tea helps you stay awake a little bit, but yesterday was one busy day for you Twinnie. 🙂 The gifts from YDM were the best and so glad you liked the bracelet, flowers, the special song and all…He has wonderful taste in these things, doesn’t he? 🙂 Such love he has, YDM is sure a keeper and you two have a beautiful love! 🙂 TF ❤
In my part of the world we celebrate in February with moonpies for Mardi Gras and of course king cakes.
Moon pies and king cakes sound delicious. 🙂 I guess Mardi Gras is upon you! 🙂
I love pumpkin, apple and lemon meringue pies, Gabby, and I had a chai latte today! I’ve missed your enlightening and fun posts and hope you’re doing well, too~
All very good pie choices Lauren and you even had a chai latte today! 🙂 I have missed you lots, too and hope you are holding up OK. Keeping you and your family in my prayers, knowing there will be both up and down days. Everything is good with me, things here are going well. Take care and sending you hugs!
I LOVE grapefruit but a pie is much better 🙂
Thanks for the fun post!
You love grapefruit Sunshine, I am glad to hear that. I am glad people really do enjoy it and happy you shared. Who can resist pie though! 🙂 Thanks for reading and liking this post, too! 🙂
Gabby,
Yes Mardi Gras is approaching if it havent approach yet. I wouldn;t know. Since J is only about hour from me. Another good post here, I love apple pie, sad to say thats my favorite kind of pie and probably only pie. I havven”t tried the tea yea, but havent forgot. I can’t wait to try it and get back to you on the post. I’m such a picky person only thing jump out at me is umm well umm maybe the breakfast part. Honest I’m not such a breakfast person, only the weekend. Sad I know. I believe this post is long enough right! God Bless 🙂
I didn’t know you guys lived so close and PJ I’m not sure exactly when Mardi Gras starts either! Thanks for liking the post and apple pie is wonderful and a good choice. 🙂 You have been kind of busy getting out of the hospital and getting better PJ and no wonder you never got to try chai tea yet. I do hope you get to try it though. That’s OK the pie is the only thing to jump out at you, lol I am so not a breakfast person most of the time either. I totally do understand and maybe I shouldn’t joke about it, but I do drink instant breakfast a lot! You and me are used to writing long comments, aren’t we PJ? I say they can never be long enough! 🙂 God Bless you, too and please take care PJ! 🙂
You are so right Gabby its not fair 8 food for feb and just 3 for jan….
its a big no to canned food…i dont like the taste and the smell…
grape fruit again no…but then i like very few of the fruits…a random apple munch or banana…Ya i do like water melon juice, and pomegranade only when i am sick…but a big yaya to cherries 🙂
my fav. food pic would be
Chocolates( drinks or otherwise), cakes :), pie’s, pasta, biryani, all the south indian foods like dosa or idli ( I know they sound alien but trust me they are divine ), vada pao( yum yum)..oh god i am hungry …again…
just had my breakfast…Gabby i dont think i will be able to stop thinking about food today 😆
Hey how is the tea chai you guys have does it have cardamom, ginger like we make it?
I know Soma, it seems strange and not fair 8 foods for February and 3 of them for January! I need to check up on how many there is for March and I’m sure I will be happy to share that news, don’t I always? 😉 Canned food is something we sure do agree on I see. I had to laugh about you loving anything chocolate, can I ever relate to that one! 🙂 I will have to look up some of the foods you mentioned that are South Indian. Oh no, you just had breakfast and food will be on your mind all day! 🙂 The chai tea does have cardamom and ginger in it, I must admit I really am starting to drink more of it. Autumn has got me totally into it now! 🙂
I love banana and avocado. Am I the only one who love avocado here? lol 🙂 That’s okay we all have our own likes and dislikes right? Fun post, love it.
BTW, thanks Gabby for liking my post and following my blog. I am touched and honored.
I know, it seems like the avocado didn’t get much of a mention, did it? Like you said, I guess we all really do have our own food likes and dislikes. 🙂 I’m glad you thought this was a fun post and enjoyed it, Thanks so much! I like your posts, you have a lot to say, it’s all good! 🙂 I knew you were following our blog and Thank You! 🙂 I thought I was following you, and was puzzled by why I wasn’t getting the emails for your posts! It gets complicated, but glad it’s straightened out and look forward to many more posts of yours! 🙂
You had me at the picture of chai tea! I absolutely love chai tea. It just makes everything better. Have you had the chai tea frap at starbucks?? Yumm-ola! I like pink grapefruit juice partly frozen. A thirst quencher on hot days. Hot breakfast is the only way to go. Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and hashbrowns. Or oatmeal and sausage…oh I could go on and on. Pie??…being from southern heritage, its safe to say I like em all. Have you tried Egg Custard or Butter Chess? Sad to report I developed an adult allergy to the guacas. I will end here because my comment is turning into a blog post. Loved this one as you can tell!
I am starting to realize that chai tea is very popular Indi! 🙂 Sadly no, I haven’t tried the chai tea frappe at Starbucks yet. I admire you for the pink grapefruit juice like, as you read it’s not something either of us Twinnies care for. Good going for the hot breakfast, I probably should make more of an effort instead of having Instant Breakfast. I have tried both pies, although it’s been quite awhile. That is sad about the adult allergy you developed.I am so glad you loved this post, also don’t ever worry about long comments I do them quite often as you can see! 🙂
