Late Night Thunderstorm

When I fell asleep I had no idea I would be woken up with loud crashing, an exciting light show of lots of lightning and just one wild thunderstorm. Wow, but it was loud and that rain was really coming down like crazy. I raced to the windows and got them shut, but hung out enjoying the sights…I love those thunderstorms. Some of you kind readers may perhaps be thinking I am a bit of a nut, but others have to enjoy these storms. If so, please do speak up and share your love of summer storms.

It reminded me of the thunderstorms when we were kids, at first they seemed scary. Being blessed with a Dad and Mom who turned those storms into fun! It sounds silly, and I don’t know how many parents told their kids this same story. It was started so early on with Autumn and me since we are the oldest of 6 girls…I so love the story. Even as a grownup I will always remember Dad and Mom telling us God decided furniture needed to be moved about in Heaven.

OK, that explained the crashes of thunder, right? Well, how did they explain the lightning to us? It was big, big night lights so everybody could see what and where they were moving the furniture of course! Why could we see it on earth both of us young Twinnies had to ask. That was explained as God thought it was nice to share the sights and sounds with his children here on earth. Wasn’t it nice he thought of all of us, and it was nothing to fear. It worked for Autumn and me, then our younger sisters and we thought it quite interesting as well as exciting.

I have heard other people who got told this story that our parents told, I have it on good authority that this story is still being told to the young kids. I have to say I love it, it saves so much stress on the fear factor! I sure wish everybody grew up with this thunderstorm story because sadly I have known friends who just shudder and shake over any thunderstorms. They hate the lightning the worst and jump out of their skins when the thunder starts. That just makes me sad, I don’t like the thoughts of anyone having fear or anxiety.

How about you kind readers? Do you like thunderstorms or do you just kind of deal with the whole thing until it all passes? I have to ask of course, because it’s what I tend to do…I ask a lot of questions! Autumn was curious to know about you kind readers thoughts on this subject, too. So, I’m not alone in my curiosity which is a nice thing as always…Inquiring twins just want to know! I enjoyed my thunderstorm of late last night while Autumn slept her way through it, go figure!

Fairy Lights

For Bonita, I hope you smile, sweetie 🙂 love and hugs Autumn Maasi

Fairy lights

Oh what a sight

Pointy ears

are rather dear 🙂

A splash

and a dash

of color so bright

whirling with all its might

A princess fairy so true

through and thorough

she’s cute as can be

so many sparkles to see

a sort of cover on her hair

some people stop to stare

but I love her look

she doesn’t go by any book

she has her own style

all of the while

she twirls and waves goodbye

Visit me again, you must try !!

Quotes About Time

I was thinking about time, the word is used so often in songs. Did you ever notice that? It’s true, think about it and I will name off a few songs with “Time” in the title. Time in a Bottle, Time is On My Side, Time After Time and the list can go on and on! Time is often worried about, misused, taken for granted and often “times” we can find ourselves running out of “time” if we’re not careful! Anyway, just to satisfy my own and offbeat curiosity I went searching for quotes about time and I discovered many. It was interesting reading and I was surprised at the good ones I found. I really do hope you kind readers enjoy them and please do think about my quote topic this week. And of all things, remember to use your “time” wisely today and everyday! 🙂
1.Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back~Harvey McKay
2.Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are one of the few things in this world you can get free of charge, If you had all the money in the world, you couldn’t buy an extra hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure?~Author Unknown
3.Time heals what reason cannot~Seneca
4.The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough~Rabindranath Tagore
5.Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity~Henry Van Dyke
6.The time is always right to do what is right~Martin Luther King Jr.
7.Time is the one thing we have in common, but it is also the one thing that we all use differently~Catherine Pulsifer
8.We all have our own time machines. Some take us back, they’re called memories. Some take us forward, they’re called dreams~Jeremy Irons
9.Time will explain it all. He is a talker and needs no questioning before he speaks~Euripides
10.Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma–Which is living with results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary~Steve Jobs

Flowers and Bells

Flowers and bells

and all sorts of spells

where magic dwells

look at the sights

day or night

the magic folk live

and always give

all that is light

with all their might

a swish and a wish

and sometimes a list

of all that must grow

the magic will show

that they all know

they flutter around

and make a lovely sound

their wings all aglow

as they watch the scene below

some are flying up high

and then with a sigh

they all touch the ground

the magic is found …

Marching to the Beat of Your Own Drummer

I’ve been known to take this term to a whole other level at times. But, it’s OK since we are all different and we have to do it our way, right? Surely we can’t all be alike, that would make life so awfully boring! I will tell all of you kind readers a secret…Autumn marches to the beat of her own drummer, too! Did  anyone really doubt that for a minute?

Anyway, I was thinking over this phrase and wondering how many people really choose to conform just to be accepted more easily. You know what I’m saying, they just don’t want to call attention to the individuality that is in each of us. Well, come on…That just isn’t good either! We all need to be ourselves and just have a joyful time of doing so is my opinion!

I have been known to dance in the rain (Autumn loves doing this herself), lead a spur of the moment parade around the block one time with a few friends (this was done with Autumn by the way who was co-leading), and the neighbors so dearly loved this one!

I sometimes sing loudly in the middle of a store by mistake. Well, this happens when I get carried away when hearing a favorite song and Autumn has also joined in or started this one all by herself. Rode our chosen merry go round horses like princesses waving to all who were watching. I know, all kids do that you may be thinking to yourselves…But this was just last week! These are just a few examples, but there’s more of course.

Oh, I almost forgot  one really fun time Autumn and I crawled out on a roof to star gaze and how exciting it was, too. Until our Dad happened to notice what we were doing and hustled us back inside, we were only young teenagers and thought it was fun what can I say? Dad didn’t agree of course, since it wasn’t the wisest of moves in safety. It was better to wait until we had our houses to go stargazing on the roof, try it sometime because it’s really exciting fun.

I  think I better keep it to myself about any more of the Twinnies examples of how we do have given it a whirl quite often, this marching to the beat of our very own drummer thing. Lest you kind readers start worrying about our sanity, unique ways and all. Yeah, right…Like that’s ever stopped me before! How many of you kind readers have fun and exciting things you have done when doing your own thing? Please do share, but only if you’d like to! It was just a passing thought today and I just had to write a little post about marching to the beat of our drummer. I just couldn’t resist, it seemed a pretty awesome topic to chat about. I do hope all of you have a grand time marching to the beat of your own drummer.

Please, please…Do not let anyone stop you! March on is what Autumn and I have to say! 🙂 🙂

Faery in Green

All dressed in green

this fairy does dream

that all through the land

everyone can

see and take a stand

to save the plants on the Earth

a magical rebirth

of all that grows

we all should know

yes, we have to try

the fairy cries

and asks us “please” begin

you know we can win

to save the flowers and trees

and even the bees !!!

Smile with me and agree

this is how it should be!

Cheer Up the Lonely Day

This really caught my eye this month, what a lovely thought this day is! I think we all should try to aim for cheering up someone, it shouldn’t be that awfully hard to do. There are some lonely people out there and it’s such a heart warming thought to lift somebody’s spirits today.

Even if we aren’t sure which the lonely people are, how about just cheering up everybody we meet up with today? Just in case, that way everyone is covered and we will have been cheery and nice all day long! Don’t think it’s possible? Yes it is, of course it is but I truly try to do this at all times. So does Autumn, I think at times we are kind of different, in a good way that is. At least that’s what we’ve been hearing for quite a few years now.

I seriously once had a friend tell me I was so nice and sweet it made him sick, I’m not kidding either. Those were his exact words, too! Of course it was a nice compliment,  only after he chuckled and said it really was intended as a compliment for real. At first I was  slightly offended but you had to know the humor I guess because coming from someone else I would have been pretty upset.

Anyway, I’m fairly certain we can all make the best and most of cheering up the lonely, right? Autumn and I sure will be giving it our all and hoping it truly does make a difference for somebody. Any of you kind readers with us on this? Oh please do say yes, the more of us who give this day a whirl the better! Together we can make a difference and today it’s our aim to go out there and cheer up the lonely! 🙂 🙂

Butterfly Princess

Hi Bonita, this is for you 🙂 Looks like fun! love and hugs Autumn Massi ♥

I am the butterfly Princess, here to say

Look at me, up up and away!

I can fly up so high

Across the sky

I close my eyes and smile

I zoom across the miles

The butterflies and me

Look and you can see

My feet are bare,

I haven’t a care

Butterfly wings

I have to sing

We sail above the clouds

I am so very proud

The magics flows

And so it goes

a brand new day

Up, up and away!!

Foods Of July

Here it is July already and again it’s time for those National and Celebrated Foods. Well, of course I have to deliver the news as promised, right?  Let’s get down to talking food kind readers and from what I’ve discovered, it’s all pretty good, too! 🙂 There are 8 of them in all this month, so it should be interesting for us to get down to talking food. I am happy to report the National Foods are:1. Blueberries 2. Ice Cream  3.Watermelon and 4.Hot Dogs and the Celebrated Foods are: 1. Pickles 2. Baked Beans 3. Eggplant 4. Lettuce. Does anyone see a little trend developing here, or is it just me?

There seems to be a lot of picnic type food going on and for good reason since it’s summertime and that spells Picnics! I know the lettuce and eggplant aren’t exactly in the picnic category, I think somebody was thinking gardens on those two. But they are good and you can take them on picnics if you want to, a bit out of the ordinary perhaps but there are no rules! Salads are always good anytime is my opinion and lettuce rocks! 🙂

Eggplant parmesan is so much a favorite of both Autumn and me, eggplant really does get two thumbs up from the both of us in general. I have a feeling some of you just might not share our love for this vegetable, love it or hate it…Do share! The ice cream making it in the national foods isn’t exactly picnic food, but who doesn’t  simply love ice cream? Hopefully the answer will be nobody! Please don’t tell me some of you kind readers aren’t ice cream fans, I will be disappointed and surprised. But everyone does have their own individual tastes and all, right? So, if you aren’t an ice cream lover speak right up…But do tell us why for heaven’s sake! 😉 I am so thinking of ice cream I may just have to get a small dish when I finish writing this post, I kid you not! So many flavors, so little time is what I say. 🙂

Anyway, all in all the foods for July have just been so much joy for me to share with all of you. Not really a bad one in the bunch again this month, although to be honest I don’t eat hot dogs and either does Autumn, it has to do with the not eating of most meats.

Please do give these 8 foods some thoughts and do share your opinions, likes and dislikes…It will  be fun! Catch up with me in August for the foods of that month, too because I will be here and happy to report them all. I sure hope you enjoyed reading this post and yes you guessed it…I must go for now because the ice cream in my freezer is calling my name! 😉 🙂
