Another Year Older…

Oh my goodness, but the last year went by rather quickly! How does that happen anyway? Lately I’ve been wondering if dear Autumn’s magic has been at work! 😉 Makes you think about all the fairies and magical creatures she has around, doesn’t it? 😉 So kind readers, Autumn and I are now one year older. But it’s OK since age is only a number, right? Of course it is, the close you get to the once dreaded numerical age the more it  only just gets better.

So, this little post isn’t really about our birthday and begging for attention. Did any of you kind readers think we were like that? 😉 Hopefully that answer is…Of course you didn’t! The funny thing is, we both have been told for years that we never looked our real age. That is such a blessing and it sure saves lying our ages! 😉 🙂  I’m kidding of course! It’s a time for these Twinnies to just be reflecting on the last 365 days and how and what’s gone on. How we have learned those life’s lessons and all, how to make this year only better. To the best of our ability of course, since we can’t control unexpected events.

I have a secret to spill, too! 🙂 Autumn is planning a big year, her engagement will be turning into a wedding I hear tell. The date is top-secret 😉 I’m kidding they haven’t set it but we will keep  you all posted, never fear. Anyway, this is where we need to ask you kind readers a question! Do you embrace your birthday, how do you celebrate and also what thoughts do you have? Come on, it’s time to share…Humor the birthday girls! 😉 🙂

Garfield the Cat Day

Happy Birthday Garfield, this is your day! Isn’t it awesome Garfield is so special and his birthday is honored with his very own special day, I think that is just the coolest thing. Garfield was born on June 19th, 1978 and that makes him 34 years old and doesn’t he look wonderful? Still so young and kittenish and just as full of fun as he was when he was first-born.

Jim Davis created this charming cat for all the public to fall in love with. Garfield really is much-loved by so many and who doesn’t know who Garfield is, right? His best buddy and sidekick Odie who he loves and also does happen to love to torment is singing Happy Birthday and his owner/person Jon Arbuckle is joining in! Along with all of us that simply love this orange tabby cat just to pieces.

I’m not sure what kind of birthday cake Garfield is having this year but the main course is lasagna and side dish of pizza! It’s funny how Garfield is the only cat I know who makes people laugh when he shreds the curtains. chairs, ferns and a flowerbed or two. He’s just so amusing at times and just a bit sarcastic that you have just got to smile, chuckle and laugh out loud at his stunts. I wanted to share this day with all of you kind readers and feel free to sing Garfield a Happy Birthday song. Yay Garfield! It’s surely is going to be good one, too!

Autumn loves Garfield as much as I do so we sang a nice Happy Birthday to him a bit earlier today, I sure hope he loved it! 😉 So come on kind readers do please share with us Twinnies…Who loves Garfield the Cat? If so, join in the fun as we all celebrate with a big smile…Happy Birthday dear Garfield! 🙂 🙂

The Twinnies Celebrate A Birthday ~ by Gabby

Yes indeed we twinnies were born January 15th. Being twins, we never knew anything else but having to share a birthday. It was just fun and a nice thing, in case nobody else ever remembered we could wish each other a “Happy Birthday“! 😉 Our birth was such a trauma to our poor Mom, she will never forget of course. An emergency c-section, Autumn and I were delivered only a minute apart. We all could have really not survived, so that is a blessing we all made it! I am the one who is a minute older, not that it’s ever been lorded over Autumn’s head. Seriously, I have  never gloated about the one minute thing, (I think). 😉

What a start to parenthood for our Mom and Dad…Twins, a little double blessing we were. At least that is the story we got told, how exciting it was to find out it wasn’t one baby but two! We had grandparents, aunts and uncles who looked forward to our birth, too. It’s a nice feeling to know we twinnies were so welcomed. To think, we never gave Mom and Dad one problem or woe or cause for headaches after that…OK, that is a total fabrication I admit. 😉 I hear tell we were quite a handful, charming and cute…But also very much double the trouble at times.

Anyway, it was an exciting day for all…January 15th and it kind of went down in history, too. Not us twinnies, I am referring to Martin Luther King! What an honor to share his birthday…Such a man of peace and wonderful thoughts, dreams and inspiration to many. It’s just very sad how he was gone too soon and with such tragedy…I am happy he has his own special holiday. Celebrated of course on Monday the 16th of January, may he be remembered forever!

Anyway, birthday thoughts…Autumn and I are grateful to be here yet another year of course. We have always celebrated together, it’s been a tradition since the start and it’s always fun.How old are we? As Autumn nicely put it…Still a couple years away from the dreaded decade. Age is really is only a number after all, isn’t it? So, there you have it…Another birthday for the twinnies and hopefully a very good year! 🙂 🙂

Happy Birthday… ~By Gabby Angel

I just had to write this one and dedicate it to youngest little sister and Dad. Having talked this over with Autumn, we both agreed we needed to acknowledge this special date. Which would be December 7th, first our beloved Dad’s birthday and also our youngest little sister.

They loved sharing the same birthday. Dad always teased M. by saying she was the best birthday gift he could have asked for. When we lost Dad to cancer 8 years ago it was so sad to hear littlest sister M. say she hated her birthday now. Thankfully the last couple years has been better and she seems to be able to enjoy her birthday.

M. is the sweetest and so loving, gentle, spunky and she has the best sense of humor. Yes, she is the baby sister of the bunch, but she truly still looks so much like a little girl. It’s easy to want to shelter her from hurting, she is so gentle and loving. M. was born when Autumn and I were almost 13 years old. So, she did grow up with the both of us always wanting to protect her and look after her.

There are way more positives than negatives I could ever say about M. She is happily married now and has two adorable little boys, the cutest and most amusing nephews they are, too. Anyway, M. was so used to sharing her birthday for years with our Dad so of course things are very different. But like I said she is doing OK, although it’s difficult not worrying about her.

Mom would make Dad his favorite cake, German Chocolate and M her favorite chocolate cake with peanut butter icing each and every year. M. loved it when they each got to blow out their birthday candles. She always insisted they blew out those candles and made their own wish at the same time. They opened birthday gifts together, again because M. insisted it was the way. Dad was such a sweetheart always going along with her wishes, because he was just that kind of awesome type Dad. He is so very missed and always will be…He loved Mom all six of us darling daughters and we all loved him back.

Dad was the kind of man who everyone liked immediately, he had a sense of joy and magic around him. His love and zest for life, making sure each day was lived to the fullest. Always encouraging, gently nuding and so good at helping others. He was a blessing to all of us and any life he touched, we all hold those memories close.

Dad would encourage M. to have a wonderful birthday…He will be watching from heaven to make sure she does have a beautifull day. I know M. knows this, so we will all make sure little baby sister has the most Happy Birthday…After all, Dad is watching and we don’t want to disappoint him.
