Tackle Your Clutter Month

Oh my goodness…April brings us Tackle Your Clutter! I wonder if we can do that? Were they aiming that at me by chance? Who among us doesn’t have a bit of clutter here and there? It seems linked in with the spring cleaning part of this time of year, doesn’t it? I know, I have a couple closets that seriously need my attention in fact. What to keep, what to part with…I just don’t know! Do I really have to make these decisions?

Well, it is Tackle Your Clutter Month so I guess I will try to give it a whirl! Anybody with me on this one? I, not too long ago did tackle my one closet and got rid of some shoes, that was just a bit traumatic…But it needed done. Off to Goodwill they went and somebody else can enjoy some of those way too impossibly high heels! I have so many clothes, accessories, and they all need sorted out. You know things I haven’t worn for years, the closet organizer people say if we haven’t worn it for a year toss it in the to go pile. Well, easy for them to say! Who can honestly and really do that, come on girls reading this what do you all have to say! Who does go by this rule? If you do, please tell me just how you do it…I’m sorry it really is quite difficult.

I have this black beaded dress, just gorgeous and I haven’t worn it for 10 or so years. But I love it, I can put it on and just hang out at my house just to say I wore it again…I just can’t give it up! Oh my goodness, sounds like I may need an intervention of some kind! Autumn really doesn’t like this dress by the way, she would pay for somebody to make me give it up once and for all. I have other clothes, perhaps too many that I just hold onto because “I might need it someday”! Oops, it doesn’t sound like I am going to be tackling any clutter does it?

I have bought the dear Twinnie clothes and they are just not her style…So usually back to me they go! She has always said, I am a wee bit primpy and she is leather and lace…Well, the truth comes out. Some of our clothing choices are just not at all alike. Then, on the other hand some are and here I am writing on and on about clothes.OK, so enough about the clothes because clearly that type of clutter isn’t being tackled. I am being so bad writing a post about tackling clutter and confessing I can’t do it! Well, I have other amounts of clutter here and there and maybe I can do better elsewhere. I promise to give it a try, I really will.

How about all of you kind readers, ready to tackle your clutter this month of April? If so, please do share, it’s clearly obvious I could use some help! 😉 🙂

Another Strange Meeting With a Neighbor…

I really have to start off by saying I do have mostly nice neighbors. The bad news is I seriously worry about some of their habits and thoughts and all though. I already reported about the neighbor Mrs Y who kind of likes to offer unwanted advice. She is probably good at heart, but sadly just a tad too in people’s business. Well, you know what I’m saying and I really do look for the total best in people. Thanks again kind readers for your input about Mrs Y! My lastest  meeting up for a short chat with a neighbor…Well, brace yourselves is all I can say. I was getting home about 11pm or so last night, my next door  neighbor is out on his front lawn. I know, sounds OK so far, right? The wacky part, he was shirtless and shoeless…Thankfully he had on a pair of jeans! If not, I would have  thought he lost his senses as he offended mine. It was bad enough the temperature was hovering at about 38-40 degrees, plus it was very windy, making it feel colder! Come on, who is only dressed in only in a pair of jeans at that temperature? What about shoes, what about a shirt?

He also never gets sick as he has informed me on several occassions. Yes, I was stupid enough to ask when I first saw him coatless in the winter. Well, there I was kind of bundled up… I had a long coat on. Also please keep in mind …Under my coat I had on a sweater and jeans. Oh yeah, I had a pair of boots on…In case anyone was wondering.

It is still winter feeling here in PA, at least in the evenings. Which has most people dressing still winter appropriate. Especially during the evening hours, during the daytime it’s gotten fairly warm on some of these days recently. Spring may be on the way, but it’s not here quite yet!  Anyway, this neighbor felt the need to explain what he was doing and turns out he was looking for his newspaper. He went on to complain about the newspaper carrier and then asked if I was dressed warm enough. You know, making light of his under-dressed state, like he was normal and I was a bit off. Anyway, it was a maybe 5 minute or less chat and I escaped…I was getting colder just looking at him.

The other thing was as I have stated before in my other “neighbor post”, I really do try to get along with neighbors. But kind readers I have to ask you all…Do any of you have a neighbor who goes shirtless and shoeless in the winter? I have a good feeling the answer will be no. Even if you live in a warm climate doesn’t it make you think it’s really rather odd, come on be honest now. No shirt no shoes in the winter?!

That is my latest encounter with a neighbor, hopefully my next one will be a better one! On that note, I am off to to turn up my heat and make a warm cup of tea! 🙂

Tying One On… BY Gabby Angel

Another adventure

Growing up, Autumn and I were blessed to have two of our best buddies live across the street from us. They were brothers, Tim and Alex and for boys they were really very cool and most times a lot of fun. Their family and ours had moved in to our houses at the same time, we all hit it off and became fast friends.

The nice part about Tim and Alex they were well mannered and treated us with respect. Not that they couldn’t get rowdy, well so could Autumn and I! Tim was our age and Alex was about 1& 1/2 years older than us.  We had so many adventures, but this one is just asking (and prodding me) to be told. So tell it I must, have a smile or perhaps a laugh I hope…But please do read on.

Read on 🙂

We were all around 8-9 years old at the time, tie-dying tee shirts was all the rage back then. Autumn and I had been telling the boys more about it. How our Mom had promised we were going to give it al whirl. Being boys at first they kind of laughed, saying wasn’t it just a girl thing? No, we promised., boys and girls alike were having tie-dying adventures. They finally agreed, Autumn and I had made it sound like to much fun to miss out on.

Our Mom and theirs were friends, so Mrs A. was going to be joining Mom in the fun. We were all getting excited about it, picking out our colors since we each got to pick on. I think back on that day and do chuckle. Whatever were our mothers thinking?

It gets better

Well, they were brave and thought it would be a fun project for all. The Moms were anxious to dye some of their own tee-shirts, too after all. So the big old pots were filled with the water and dye was ready. We were doing this project out back of our house on one of the picnic tables. Tee- shirts ready and the loads of rubber bands we would be using, all of us dressed in older clothes. Well, just in case the dye got splashed around too much, those Moms were really planning ahead.

They showed us how to wrap the rubber bands around parts of the material on the tee-shirts. It was fun, we were really all getting into this! The Moms were busy dipping a couple of the tee-shirts, then hung them up to dry. It really was going great lots of smiles and laughing, everyone just having a good time of it.

We were down to the last tee-shirt, and luck ran out of good behavior. Autumn got it into her head to see how Tim would look with blue(her color of choice) in his blond hair! Those two were such buddies, but we should have known to keep our eyes on them.

It happened fast, Autumn picked up a nearby cup and, filled it with blue dye and over Tim’s head it went. Tim, always ready to get in on the action was next. Over Autumn’s head went Tim’s color choice,  a cupful of some red dye went! Before the Mom’s could stop them the dye was flying, they were covered in it! Both of them laughing like crazy, just having a blast and acting like fools. They were a mess, Alex and I backed off being the sane ones. Content to just stand back and watch the show, while Dad hearing the ruckus popped out the back door. Just in the nick of time, too.

The Moms were having a hard time breaking up the action, well Dad stopped it real fast! Tie-dying fun was over for the day, thanks to those two. Autumn and Tim were washed off quickly, no real lasting harm done. It was talked about and also laughed about for years to come. Just on that particular day, nobody was laughing except the wild and crazy duo of Autumn and Tim.

P.S. The other tee-shirts turned out fine, by the way! 🙂 😉
