The Fall Festival~Written by Gabs Angel :)

Once again, a funny thought and a memory of way back when.Autumn and I loved our best buddies, Tim and Alex. Our best guy buddies and thankfully our neighbors for a good long time, we shared so many good times with them.

This incidence occurred back when we were 10 or 11 years old, still kids and still having fun. It was a fall day we were still having Indian Summer here in PA, so it was a nice day. We all got together and were trying to decide what to do for the day. As luck would have it we were having a fall festivial in our little town and we all agreed it would be a fun time. We got our parents permission and with the agreement we would be back in 3 hours.

It was not anything real wild and exciting this little festival, but it seemed like a nice thing to be doing for the day. You kind of had to go with the flow, especially when living in a small town such as ours. We took off about 1PM and would have a walk of 15 minutes, Autumn and Tim walked ahead of Alex and I. It was best for all concerned when we had then those two clearly in our view, Autumn and Tim could come up with some of the wackiest stunts. The two of them together, had been cooking up schemes of some sort for years!

Well, we arrived at the school grounds where the little festival was being held and it was kind of busy. Lots of kids our age were also thinking it would be a fun adventure. There were a few rides and games to play, a kind of mini-carnival if I had to describe it.

We walked aorund chatting to this friend and that, just taking everything in.We spotted this one game, it was throwing balls and I knew Alex was good at that. I had my eye on this most adorable little stuffed kitty, Alex would win it for me, I just knew it! While I was busy cheering him on, Tim and Autumn had veered off in another direction, heading for one of the rides. Well, we would catch up to them in a few moments. It took Alex just a short time and before I knew it, the stuffed kitty was in my arms and I was a happy girl.

We were chatting and walking along, trying to see where Autumn and Tim had gotten to…Where in the world were those two?! Finally we did spot them, there they were on the ferris wheel. Oh no, Autumn didn’t do well with heights either and they were nearing the top. Alex and I just watched as sure enough Tim was trying to calm down a screaming Autumn. Oh boy, was she loud and how embarassing they were attracting a small crowd, too. It seemed like forever, but Autumn and Tim finally reached the ground. The guy in charge of the ride was more than happy to let those two out, Autumn still carrying on and telling Tim off very loudly for talking her into the ride

. My goodness, Tim was looking guilty and sad, promising Autumn the best prize he could win if she’d just stop being upset.Autumn was eyeing my stuffed kitty, well she wanted something more interesting than that, she told Tim. Looking back those two were kind of amusing, best buddies for sure and Tim always going out of his way to make Autumn happy. Well, to be honest he’d been doing that for years, ever since the unfortunate toad incident.

Alex and I wandered off, letting those two go on there own way we were off to have some ice cream anyway. By the time we all caught back up with each other, there was Autumn with a large stuffed unicorn in her arms and a happy smile. It seems Tim had spent the major part of his allowance winning her the stuffed unicorn, but he was back in Autumn’s good graces.

All was well and the four of us headed back home, our three hours had flown by. It had been a fun time and our adventure at the Fall Festival drawing to an end, with Autumn and Tim only having caused a small drama this time around.

Pumpkin Patches~Written by Gabby Angel

Pretty Pumpkins

This time of year my thoughts turn to all the good memories of those younger years during this fall season.  All the exciting things that we used to do as kids, those wonderful memories. When young, we looked forward to leaves falling and jumping into the piles.  Helping 😉  Dad rake them up after all the fun was over. Autumn and I always did love to help, our Dad was patient.

We loved the approach of this time of year, it also meant cider, getting pumpkins and also plenty of apples! Autumn and I simply loved cider, especially while eating popcorn. We twinnies always did have some unusal tastes.

The Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch, was so exciting…We got to walk around the pumpkin patch and pick our very own! We used some for decoration and some to carve as Jack O Lanterns. Every holiday at our house was special.

We were so big on decorating and making our house as festive as could be. The pumpkin patch, that was just plain magicial to us! It just made Autumn and I more than ready for the outing and the sooner the better.

This one particular day in early fall our parents took us to do our “pumpkin shopping”, we were close to 7 years old at this particular time.

Youngest little sister was only 21/2 years old and she was coming along, too. Well, Autumn and I knew Mom and Dad would keep a good eye so she wouldn’t cause trouble. 😉

Baby Pumpkins

We arrived at the Pumpkin Patch and off we went, walking around and looking for the best pumpkins we could find. So many pumpkins, big small and in between sizes, how would we decide? We picked out some bigger ones, we did a fine job. We were all smiles as Mom assured us we made some darn good choices. Dad carried them to put aside and paid for after Autumn and I decided on the few little “baby pumpkins” as we liked to call them. Autumn and I had very particular thoughts and ideas. We got so giddy just looking at all those baby pumpkin choices, we got a little too silly for own good.

Don’t dance with Pumpkins

We each had picked up a smaller one, and started doing a little dance. Never dance with pumpkins, I am telling you all for your own good. A few minutes later, we bumped into to each other and down we toppled. Those poor little two pumpkins went flying, and splat. Autumn and I looked at each other, we started laughing like crazy.

I know, not the reaction everyone would have, but please remember we were quite young. 😉 Wrong thing to do, Dad was at our sides in record time and not with a smile on his face either. He got us under control and the giggles stopped in short order. He quickly picked out a couple baby pumpkins, not letting us choose and told us we were homeword bound.

Well Autumn and I were sad, so much sniffling and many tears later we were all back in the station wagon and back home before we knew it.. Quite the lecture we twinnies got, it happened a lot and we should have been used to it. We really had been quite the embarassment for Mom and Dad, also a bad example to our little sister. Autumn and I basically were good little twinnies, most of the time anyway. 😉

Happy Autumn ~written by Autumn Sunshine

HAPPY AUTUMN

The air in the evening is really cooling off here in Pennsylvania.

Its my time of year

Yes, Autumn/Fall the Season I mean, it on it’s way. The play on my name and the season, yeah it’s funny and also fun.  I can feel it though, and it’s definitely turning into that cool “fall” feeling.

I love, love, love the Autumn season, the time of the year!! The changing color of the leaves, crisp cool air, Halloween  just all changes and even though I really just love the summer time, I have a love for the Fall, too.

Memories of football games and Halloween

Fall, it reminds me of my High School days and football games  and do you expect I ever dated a football player?? I am betting you all will guess a resounding NO, well yeah I actually did once.  I was so NOT  the “cheerleader” type.  I was the opposite of it, but I may havesaid a few “Rah, Rah, Rah’s” for the dude  He was a fearless one, he was dating a “Goth girl”.

The end of October, bring Halloween here in the States. I sure have a lot of those memories, too. Growing up in a small town and all my twin and I were having loads of fun as kids.

I have to remember how the neighbourhood was backwhen, so different now and the times are so changed. I feel a sadness that the kids of today will have less of a feeling of “safeness”, it’s sad, but yeah, the times do change.

Like the Changing seasons

I am of course used to the “parade” of season and the changes due to living here where I do. I would love to live somewhere else, where it’s warmer.

I wonder would I miss the Fall/Autumn season? Hmmm… I don’t know that I would, I doubt it.  Give me the heat any day!!!!

So to all you wonder what I say about the season? I just say …

Happy Autumn”, of course

Celebrate the changes in our lives and remember to smile, too!
