The Twinnies Are Finally Back and It’s 2013!

Well, it’s been  about five months now since we’ve been away… And this time was so very much-needed by both of us Twinnies. Some of it was spent on vacation time of course. Camping and enjoying the mountains where it is so peaceful was so wonderful. The rest of the time was spent doing some serious rest and relaxation with each of us doing our own things.

I would love to report that we jaunted off to Italy and all over the globe, but alas we stayed right here in the US. It’s been over a year now since Autumn and I have been on Word Press and we honestly do love blogging and interacting with all of you. You kind readers and friends really are the best, we appreciate you all so much never doubt it! However, it’s also a sometimes draining and exhausting thing trying to write everyday, visit blogs and all.

Life gets too busy and time is so short. We had some not very good  things going on in our family that made blogging even more difficult, too. Our Mom was having some health issues and is still not quite her best yet. Several other personal things really did also take over and put blogging on the back burner. I guess it’s not necessary to get into all of it, it all was just very hectic and it still is to some degree. So, it really was good and important for Autumn and I to take some time for ourselves just so we didn’t become too tired, stressed and burned out. We Twinnies hope you all will be understanding and we do promise to try our best to get back in the swing of things, we have missed you all. We both sure really do admire you who do post everyday and sometimes numerous posts as well. Unfortunately these Twinnies can’t promise to do this, but we will be here as often as humanly possible! Hopefully more often than not, we’ll quite honestly just have to see how it all goes and thanks for bearing with us.

Thank you again so very much to all of you kind readers and friends for sticking with us and we send lots of love, hugs and all the very best vibes out to every one of you! Autumn and Gabby 🙂 🙂

Overhearing A Conversation and Catching a Memory

It’s a funny little happening and one I sure didn’t expect to be overhearing, but I did! Laying in bed, resting and reading during my convalescing I sure heard a chat among young teenage neighbors that made me laugh. Wasn’t that a fun happening, since resting and laying down was kind of getting to me. I am so not used to tiring easily or being in pain so the teenagers gave me a smile and a memory and they’ll never know it!

Only you kind readers will because I am sharing it will you all, because I just feel the need to. My bedroom faces the direction of my nice neighbors with a 13-year-old girl, she is a nice young girl with sometimes a rather loud voice. Of course my bedroom window was open since there was a nice breeze blowing, so I really wasn’t eavesdropping on purpose! Anyway, she was hanging out on her front porch with her “kind of boyfriend“…That’s what she calls him. Her parents say not, because she is a bit young to have a boyfriend but they let them hang out on the front porch swing.

I’ve never asked about the kind of boyfriend, but she feels the need to share her life’s happenings every so often when I see her. So, back to the chat I overheard as I digress all over the place. The nice neighbor girl Nicole is entertaining the “kind of boyfriend” Justin and they were teasing each other and having a good time I thought. But Nicole is a tad touchy and had enough of his teasing and she was going to set poor Justin straight.

I heard her telling him how she would never marry him unless  he really straightened up because his teasing was a bit too much. Anyway, she elaborated for a good five minutes…I’m guessing because no I wasn’t timing her! It just struck me as funny and amusing as I flashed back to thoughts of dear Autumn at that same age. She was smitten with neighbor boy Tim as he was with her, I have her permission to report how she could get a tad bossy with Tim. If he overteased her or got too silly she would get him in line and often would say how she wasn’t going to marry him if he kept up such things. It was cute and funny, Autumn had the touch to get her way while still making Tim think it was his idea.

Maybe you had to be there, but I can remember it like it was yesterday and picture her with her hands on her hips giving him the speech! Of course the dear Twinnie had a good number of years of keeping Tim in line…She had been doing it since we were about 5 or 6 years old. Young Tim bounced a toad off her head and Autumn had been keeping him in line ever since! A whole other story, a whole other blog and Autumn hates toads to this day.

Anyway, the whole chatting of Nicole and Justin had me reminiscing to those younger days of Autumn and Tim. I later shared with her and she laughed, dismissing the toad incident with a shudder but we had a good laugh chatting of all those younger days. Autumn always makes me get a chuckle about how her and Tim might have made a better marriage than her and her ex….Well, we never know but time marches on. Autumn is now happy and engaged to her darling man and the rest is just history! I did love sharing this little flashback with you kind readers. But, please whatever you do…Do Not tease her about toads! 😉 🙂

I Just Don’t Exactly Fit In…

I know, what a title again, but I will explain kind readers…Don’t I always? The title I wanted was just far too long, so I settled on this one. I have a reputation to maintain for my odd and sometimes puzzling titles to my posts! 😉 Anyway, “I Just Don’t Exactly Fit In at the Nice Mechanic’s Garage Who Looks After My Car” is a bit long wouldn’t you say? Sixteen words in a title, I really think not so this one with the Six words worked out the best.

Anyway, it’s so true upon picking up my car at the garage today I felt like I was in another world. My mechanic is wonderful, but at the end of the day there is usually a couple of guys (at the very least) hanging out in the office part. So, there I am this strange situation, with the guys chatting to me. They want me to feel welcomed, not left out of their secret club I guess. Those garages have that sort of thing going on, and being a girly sort of girl I am just so not hip to this car lingo.

I did understand the changing the oil thing and oh, never mind because I forget the rest. General needed maintenance and all, these are the times I just wish Dave was here to take care of it all. I know, he’s in Heaven and is not able to do such things and he trusts the nice mechanic/garage owner. I thankfully do have a mechanic I can trust and it is fine with me, I just want to nicely make it short and sweet. You know, pick up my car and get out pretty quickly…Those places reek of car smells! You know what I mean and I do believe I hear a few guys reading this just laughing like crazy, too. I can’t blame you at all, because it is laughable and kind of pitiful at the same time.

Anyway, I picked up my car earlier and just felt the need to write this post…Well, because I love to share! 🙂 Autumn is a bit more knowledge than I am about the car stuff, but not a lot…So she is definitely with me with this one. The sweet Twinnie did teach me how to pump gas 9 years ago, that was lovely and kind of liberating. I’m wondering how many of you girl readers can identify with me, or are you one of those girls who learned the car lingo? Whichever one, please do feel free to jump in with a comment and you guys can, too…Just be nice! 😉 🙂

National Barefoot Day

Barefoot day is here, June 4th and I just had to share it  with everyone! 🙂 After the broken toe of mine, not to mention the few bruised ones you would think I wouldn’t be embracing this one. But, I just have to because being barefoot and shoeless is just so nice! I really do walk around my house with no shoes on most of the time…Not for outside anymore.

Autumn is the same way, we Twinnies learned our lessons very young after stepping on countless bees when we were young. We both proved to be allergic to those stings and it really put a damper on things and Ouch with lots of crying!  Also, the unfortunate incidents of cuts and all…It just isn’t very wise to do. I was thinking of it being Barefoot Day and wondering if anyone will be going barefoot at their jobs? Not probably embraced by employers, even if they do happen to be related to you.

Since there are limits an a time and a place for everything, unfortunately. How many of you kind readers will be celebrating Barefoot Day, do share! After all, it is National Barefoot Day and people all over the world will be happy that this day has finally arrived! The other thought I just had as I am writing about the joys and all of going barefoot is how many shoes, boots, sandals, etc are now residing in my closet! 🙂

It’s funny think about it just for a minute or so! 😉 OK, so I love my footwear and so does Autumn but there is also freedom of going barefoot every now and then. Even if it’s only on this National Barefoot Day alone, so if you’re like us Twinnies with the closet full of shoes and all, we can still embrace this day. It’s only once a year, so do have a very Happy Barefoot Day everyone! 🙂 🙂

What You Think Upon Grows Day

Well, this is an interesting bizarre and somewhat unusual holiday, isn’t it? It’s today May 31st, sorry not to give more notice, but start thinking now! You all simply have to join in on this one and please share, you just need to! Oh my goodness, I am sounding like a bit of a bossy person but of course you kind readers know that I’m not.

So now,  I must ask you kind readers…How could I resist writing a post on this one?! It can be for the good…What you think upon grows, I have many ideas let me just say. Didn’t anyone doubt it for a minute? Of course I will be happy to share, as will Autumn. She loved this not celebrated on the calendar  holiday when she heard about it from me. Just think and think on it and about whatever you see fit…Then it will just grow!

Now I have a good plan for what I will be thinking upon and watching grow, it will be peace and happiness for everyone on this earth! Yay, I love my idea if I do say so myself and I sure would love to see peace and happiness grow & grow, spread all over! No more bad vibes, mean-spirited things, hatred, fighting, hurting and all the rest of all those sad and bad things.

Autumn says she wants magic to grow and become so powerful that she will join my wishes of peace and happiness! Wow, that Twinnie is so awesome…Imagine what could happen! Well, we will keep thinking upon this all day long, waiting to watch it all grow…So be watching for it kind readers because you never do know.

How about all of you? Any ideas of what you would like to think upon to just grow, it’s up to all of you…But please do feel free to share! This is one very good not celebrated holiday, so let your imaginations just soar! 🙂 🙂

It Seems Like Yesterday

I really had to write this, it’s one of those posts that really just have “to be”. It’s a story that spans 25 years and it seems like yesterday. She was born on New Year‘s Day, that in itself is special wouldn’t you say? This is a story of my niece and of course I am her favorite Aunt, but why you may be asking? Well, because she is Autumn’s beautiful daughter and I was always and will always be her kind of second Mom. Thanks so much for sharing her Twinnie!
I did my best with the loving, the spoiling, the holding onto that little girl hand of hers as I strolled her through some magic times, with your permission of course. You were, are and will always be the best and most fun of Moms Twinnie dearest! I loved the time Twinnie had on her leather cowboy hat in the school pick up line and darling niece who was maybe 6 years old was not pleased. I got called Mom and Autumn was Aunt Gabs until that evil cowboy hat got taken off!
The darling niece had a fine sense of humor from the start and it still remains.  I feel blessed I had a major part of this lovely niece’s life, and those years seemed to roll by way too quickly. The darling niece learning to walk, then running everywhere she went because walking was way too slow! The girl had a zest for life from early on, she was clearly her mother’s daughter!
Then

The days of schooling, well they seemed to fly and then, onto college…Those 4 years went by in a blink of an eye, too. Anyway, I am along with Autumn having a hard time of it these days. The beautiful niece has moved way too far away, 2, 000 miles away…I am still convinced she will tire of this new location and be back very soon. Her new job will end up boring and dull, she will miss us too much and move right back where she belongs. I just knew  we Twinnies should have kidnapped her and refused to let her go, except that’s not how real life works. I should have bribed darling niece with the shopping trip of her dreams, because I had helped teach her to shop until you dropped. Did I mention along with loving this niece like crazy, that I spoiled her shamefully? I couldn’t help myself, her big brown eyes just had me from the start!  Well, I know that kids have to find their way and live their own lives as they see fit…But who would have known it would be so difficult? Trying not to make this sad, we Twinnies shared a new batch of tears last night.
NOW

Autumn was a single Mom for way over half of darling niece’s life…Sorry to report, Autumn’s ex-husband was really not father material and forever shame on him! Thankfully our parents were a marvelous help, I helped and so did my husband along with other family of course. It’s just hard to believe, here we are 25 years after the miracle of darling niece’s birth and she is really off having a new adventure of it. Well, I am trying to be strong and be there for Autumn and somehow we will get through this! I love my darling niece and want the best and brightest for her..Whatever the future holds for her, may she be blessed! But it still seems like it was only yesterday…

National Smile Month

Isn’t this just the nicest news about the month of May? It’s National Smile Month and this is such a happy and cheerful thing to practice all month-long! Think of all the joy you can be spreading and making somebody’s day a little brighter. Even the most grumpy or kind of sad-looking people will hopefully respond to a smile. We can sure try it because it can’t hurt, right? It could end up doing a world of good, that would be just wonderful.

I know, I sure can get carried away with these type of things, but I can’t seem to help myself. I feel like I have been doing this my whole life, so has Autumn. It’s in our nature to greet people with a smile, and perhaps some people really don’t want to see a smile or anything of that nature.

There are some type of people wandering this earth who are just basically too unhappy or miserable and they like it that way. What a sad thing, but I know I will always give it a whirl, why not? Just go for it, what can they do to you except maybe ignore you or give a nasty look. Oops, I forgot the one time somebody said a few not exactly nice words to me, and that time the rude hand gesture, too. OK, so a few not so pleasant times… It can happen but I am so optimistic and its National Smile Month! I am just going for it, even more this month and I won’t be stopped by anyone! What a brave stand that sounds, but Autumn is with me on this smiling business. It’s good to know, I’m not alone on my quest.

Any of you kind readers going to join us Twinnies on our quest to make National Smile Month happen? Do let us know, together we can make a difference this month! 🙂 🙂

Losing Your Marbles?

This is just too funny not to share, I just heard this one today from a friend. It does concern losing your marbles and someone trying to remedy the situation. All I can say it was a new idea and well intended, too and like nothing I had ever heard anyone doing.

It happened with one of my friend’s co-workers to cheer her up and all since she had been having a rough few weeks. Both at the job and also a tiny bit at home, too…Her teenaged daughter has been acting up just a bit much these days. Long story there and not necessary to tell for this post. I personally never would have thought of this one but my friend’s co-worker presented her with a bag full of marbles. A note was enclosed that said “Just when you think you’re losing them all, pull out my little gift and you will find you really haven’t lost them all!” How wild is that, wonder how the co-worker thought of such a thing…I like it!

Losing all your marbles or just a few here and there is never a good thing after all, is it? Wonder wherever that expression came from anyway…It’s another way of saying losing it, going nuts and slipping a gear or perhaps two. At those sometimes stressful jobs I guess having your own stash of marbles would make you smile and probably laugh. It was just funny how my friend told the story, I hope she doesn’t get any ideas. I really don’t need a bag of marbles, because my life and work isn’t all that stressful. Maybe it is, I could perhaps just not be thinking it is…I am kidding! I would be the first one to admit I was being stressed out or having a rough time of it. But, thankfully not and telling Autumn this story she thought it was rather amusing, too but didn’t think she needed a bag of marbles either.

Well, either the Twinnies are just too laid back or we are in denial…Could it be? I know, it isn’t funny joking about these things. Because of course Autumn and I are both fine. I had to ponder about this marbles story and thought it was fun for sharing. Some of you kind readers maybe could borrow the idea and hand out bags full of marbles! Go ahead if you have a family member, friend or co-worker who is having a bad time, well do give it a whirl and see what happens! If you do, please do tell us how it goes! 😉 🙂

National Lost Sock Memorial Day

Yes today, May 9th is a wonderful holiday! Not celebrated according to the calendar, but again it should be. How many of you kind readers are identifying with this one? I know Autumn and I are so on board with this, lost socks do need a memorial day! I wish I had counted over the years how many socks have been lost. Somewhere between the washer and dryer they just up and disappear! Wherever do all those socks go? I wonder how many of us are asking ourselves that question over and over throughout the years…I have a feeling it’s a lot of people!

Very frustrating it is, those lost socks are no doubt having a good laugh at all of our expense. Perhaps somewhere in the world of lost socks a party goes on everyday. They get together and have many chuckles and as they are all snickering and having a grand time of it… When we all just want to know the answer once and for all! Where are those lost socks? Come on already, it really is so unfair and I demand an explanation!

Yeah, like those lost socks are ever going to come out of hiding and show themselves…No it isn’t going to happen. Hmm…I am just sort of in awe at their sneakiness and wherever they are hiding will no doubt remain a mystery. They are laughing it up at my indignation, at all of us and we can’t even start up a protest either.

Why, you may be asking? Well, it’s common sense of course, they are a secret society and nobody ever is going to solve this mystery! They are just too good at this, the socks have banned together years ago and they win! I can stomp my foot and they just smirk, those lost socks are just plain evil I say! So, today we will all celebrate Lost Sock Memorial Day, let’s pretend we just don’t even care…Any of you kind readers with me on this one? Autumn says, yes she is and that Twinnie gets much more irritated over this than me. Well, that was supposed to be a secret but Autumn says what the heck…Reveal her temper and maybe somewhere those socks (a few of them, anyway) are cowering.

The Twinnie has a worse temper than I do and those socks better remember her magic and the magical friends, so go Autumn! If anyone can get to the bottom of this perhaps the magic will reveal all, Yay! Oops, Autumn just wandered over to my place and told me she has tried…The lost socks are stronger than any magic that exists! Well, just go figure and who would have thought?

OK, we surrender, you stupid socks win and National Lost Sock Memorial Day is rocking stonger than ever…If we can’t win we can have the best celebration ever this year! Who is with us Twinnies? Any thoughts from you kind readers…Autumn and I would love to hear. Sharing is good and healing, we can vent our disgust about this sock thing on this post together! 😉 🙂

Inner Child Alert!

This is my own personal idea and no it’s not a bizarre or unusual holiday. I made this one up all by myself and I am proud of this shout out. Listen up kind readers…It’s a day for all of us to let our inner child out to play! 🙂 Come on, it’s a good day as any and we all need to give this one a whirl!

I am inspired today, I was in the park near my house. Wow, what fun these kids were having! Such smiles, and happiness just flowing like crazy. I was over at the park walking around and just having a peaceful hour, but these kids got me so inspired. I met up with the sweetest young mother and her two daughters, they were a pair of 5-year-old twins! I loved seeing a set of young twinnies play and jump about with all that excitement. They were just having a blast on the swings, then were just having a grand time on all the other playground equipment. I have to admit I joined in taking a turn on the swings myself and then I was in for a quick game of tag.

The twins and their Mom thought it was so awesome that I was also a twin…It took me back to Autumn’s and my younger days! 🙂 A few more kids arrived at the park and soon everybody was just having a fun time of it all. I find myself reverting to childhood among these young kids…Not one ounce of an embarrassment coming from me! I am either the silliest person you would want to meet or just a free flying kid in the disguise of a grownup. 😉 The whole concept of letting our inner child out to frolic for a little while today or any day is just such a great idea. Or have I been bitten by the Peter Pan Syndrome bug? Nope, I think not…I just like letting my inner child have a turn every now and then.

It was a fun hour or so, I plan on taking an hour or so each and everyday to let the inner child within me go for it! Yay, for our inner children…Do any of you kind readers agree with me? Think about it and let me know what your thoughts are on this one if you would like to.

I talked to Autumn a short while ago, she simply loved the idea! Also she was so loving hearing about those young girl twinnies. So Autumn is joining me for a time tomorrow for a walk in the park near her house. I am so looking forward to it! The park by her house is a bit bigger than the one near me, think of the possibilities. 🙂 We will let  everyone know how our inner child twinnies do and if you don’t hear from us…Well, we promise we will be back as soon as we can reel in those inner child twinnies! Everyone join us, it’s time to let those inner children loose, Yay! 😉 🙂
