February is National Wedding Month!

I seriously didn’t know this fact and was rather surprised to hear about this one. February isn’t the warmest of months in our area or a very popular one for those choosing a wedding date. The other surprise was…Dave and I got married on February 5th and we never knew it was National Wedding Month. Well, as some of you kind readers know already that Dave is in Heaven now, losing the battle to evil cancer 9 years ago. So, I can’t actually tell him about this fact in person anyway…But I’ve got a feeling he already knows the news.

Anyway, to be very honest we also didn’t want to get married on Valentine’s Day because seriously everybody aims for that date. Please don’t get me wrong, no offense to all of those who select Valentine’s Day as their wedding day! Dave and me, well we wanted to stand alone and have our wedding date very special and as unique as we were and it was, too. 🙂  Anyway, I was thinking about weddings after reading the fact that its National Wedding Month…Of course inquiring questions kept popping into my head.

Autumn answered one of the questions for me which was thoughtful of her. She said her Darling Man and her will be marrying in one of the warmer months and certainly not on Valentine’s Day or any celebrated holiday. Well, still no date out of the Twinnie and her Darling Man isn’t talking either…They really haven’t set a date yet and that really is the truth of the matter!

How about any of you kind readers thoughts on weddings. It will be fun, chime in with the month you picked to marry. If you haven’t married yet, do you have any particular month in mind? Anybody else marry in this month of February? Do tell please…Sharing is so much fun! 🙂 🙂

Valentine’s Day ~ by Gabby

It’s here, February 14th has arrived! It does that every single year and Valentine’s Day is here once again. How is everyone celebrating? Any plans or thoughts on the day? It is a day to celebrate love, so of course the Twinnie is on board with this one. Autumn is just glowing everyday with the love and she doesn’t need a special day. How do I feel on this day? As some of you kind readers already know…My husband Dave is in Heaven. Well, I am of course missing him as always but I do celebrate the day. Dave wouldn’t want me to spend the day being sad. I had a good many Valentine’s Days that are very cherished memories we spent together.

I won’t be sad, after all I do have two very special Valentines! Who are they? My two youngest and very special nephews, they make sure to give me a valentine and a special drawing and sometimes other little surprises. How sweet is that I ask? 🙂

When Autumn and I were young, but old enough to understand Valentines Day we learned how it was done! Our Dad gave us Valentine cards along with a little heart-shaped box filled with chocolates or some other little treat, right along with our Mom. 🙂 That is such a treasured memory, it started with Dad giving us twinnies the special Valentine gifts. It continued with each new sister that came along, too. Six sisters and Mom, Dad was handing out lots of special Valentines through the years!

Well, didn’t we all get a head start on what to expect from the boyfriends and husbands to come? Yes, we sure did and if they were slackers woe on to them! The either got a good talking to or…Yes, Autumn once dumped a boyfriend over the Valentine’s Day neglect. That Twinnie sure didn’t fool around…Thankfully she won’t have to worry this year with such things. Her darling man is quite the romantic and also a very nice guy, he asked me for hints over a month ago concerning special gift choices for her. 🙂 I know, Wow he is a keeper for the Twinnie! In case he didn’t give her the special gift, I just better keep his gift choice to myself. Maybe she will share with us though! 🙂

Well, how about you kind readers? Anyone care to share their plans or perhaps some thoughts? Sharing is always fun I say! Aso we twinnies are wishing all of you a very special and Happy Valentine’s Day!! 🙂 🙂

Sending Messages in a Bottle…BY Gabrielle Angel

I haven’t tossed a message in a bottle out to sea for a couple years now. That is a strange statement to make, isn’t it? I may have snagged a few people’s attention with that one.

Actually we don’t have a sea in PA, so I should have said River instead perhaps. One thing I did do was write them…Messages in a bottle. To Dave, it was a rather unusual pasttime of mine there for awhile. It sure did make a few family members and friends frown and kind of worry. One of the many odd things I did after he left this earth. Or is it odd? I suppose we all do what we must at the time.

I had read the Nicholas Sparks book “Message In a Bottle” and also saw the movie in 1999. Of course so did Autumn, we are both Nicholas Sparks fans. There are about 40 quotes in that movie, for real. Of course Autumn knew that fact! My writing the messages to Dave was better than writing in a journal. Although I did that, too.

It had been a joke Dave started actually, “After I’m gone send me messages in a bottle“. We had some very off the wall chats Dave and I, he had a quirky sense of humor and so do I. In so many ways, we made jokes and laughed when other people did the doom and gloom thing. I am in no way making light of losing him to cancer. I love him and miss him every day of my life. Both of us really had very high hopes he would beat the evil cancer quite honestly.

There is a song “Message in a Bottle” by The Police from 1979, too. Do you know there are shops all over the place, lots and lots of them. They are called Message in a Bottle Shops, so the trend has been popular for quite some time. People are using this as a wedding theme, and others are sending them to friends, family and loved ones. They are being given for birthdays, an anniversary, Valentine Day, Get Well and so many other occasions. That was kind of interesting to discover this fact. Who would have guessed?

I remember as kids Dad let Autumn and I toss a message in a bottle into our beloved Pine Creek. Dad and Mom really did let us twinnies do some fun things.

Does anyone reading this have any message in the bottle stories? Care to share them? I would love to know if anyone has ever done this. This whole thought and memory is one I was remembering earlier when thinking of Dave.  Of course I do that so often, think of Dave probably hundreds of times a day. Is that normal or healthy? I don’t know, it doesn’t really matter to me. We all do what we do, and anyway I never did claim to “do normal”. Either does Autumn, thank goodnessbecause the twinnies need this in common. Dave’s in Heaven, no doubt laughing like crazy about me telling this particular story of mine. I stopped writing the messages in a bottle to Dave, like I said about 2 years ago.

Hey, maybe it’s time to write another one?
